In Year 2, i continue to develop my sense of empathy towards the target users. As compared to Year 1, a lot of improvements were made. As I put in emphasis on the research components, i noticed that it is easier to design with all the information gathered. I understand that design not just ideating to make things look nice.
At the end of year 2, i learnt to better analyse the information i have gathered, and use them to identify the core issues of the problem. With a well defined problem statement, it makes it easier to source for solutions to those problems.
Year 2

Aquarius is a future's project that aims to redefine the current underwater breathing systems by developing artificial human gills.
Marine Biomimicry was used in the design; such as borrowing the shape of the shark's fin for its streamline structure, and the application of the concept behind the skin of squids that enables them to camouflage into the surroundings.
ORILIEF Shelter is a first response shelter that is portable and easy to set up. The origami inspired structure is able to distribute stress evenly making it strong and stable, allowing the shelter to be able to withstand harsh weather conditions and suitable for long and short term use.
Massimo Bottura uses Jackson Pollock's style of Drip Painting to garnish his plates. Drip painting involves the act of dripping and splattering of the paint on the canvas.
Inspired by the Chaotic Motion of the Double Pendulum, CAOS aims to involve the diners in the act of garnishing and help to create an entirely different garnish for each of the diners.
