Year 1

Year 1 is where I learn to develop empathy and understanding of the users. Inexperienced, i had difficulties trying to empathize with the target users and design to meet their needs.

At the end of year 1, I realized that all design begins with insight. Design is almost always done for someone else. To be able to do good designs, I must develop a sense of empathy towards the people i am designing for, gain insights into what they need, what they want, how they behave, feel, and think, and why they demonstrate such behaviors, feelings, and thoughts when interacting with the products.

Design to me is about understanding the needs and wants of the target users and design for them, rather than being overly self-absorbed or self-interested.

TOUCH Wallet helps to enable the Blind to tell the amount of money he/she has in hand and store/retrieve the right amount of money quickly.

Incorporating the sense of Touch into the design, the touch wallet comprises of Brailles and 6 different types of paper with different textures

SPACE (Sound Amplifier) appears to be a normal box with graphics inside. But once the phone is inserted from the top, the phone disappears and sound is amplified.

Expresses the feeling of the phone disappearing into space and transform into music.

Lay a Path is a toy designed for Blind Children in age 7 and below to learn basic materials found in nature in the comfort and safety of their homes.

The toy aims to expose them to commonly used materials while learning to navigate with Tactile Paving and develop problem solving skills.

Bump Mini takes a step away from the conventional shape of the
hairdryer. It’s simple aesthetic with subtle ergonomic detail creates for
a new user experience.
