In year 3, i put together everything i have learnt throughout these 3 years into action. With the help of the insights i have gotten from my internship with dialogue in the dark, i was able to empathize better with the blind users.
I was able to analyse my observations well and define the core problems i have identified. I started asking questions like "how can i make art more accessible to the blind? Can colours only be communicated through sight? What about touch? How can i create textures?".
I also got better at identifying new solutions to the problem statement, and was able to look for alternative ways of viewing the problem. Getting out of my comfort zone, i tried to make a technological product. Teardowns was done to understand the internal components and allow myself to design a realistic product that is possible with current technology.
Unlike in year 1 and 2, where my products are finalized based on mere renderings, in year 3 i made sure to make prototypes for the designs in the development stage to ensure that it works and that it is viable; or works well. With prototypes and user testing, i learnt to produce realistic designs; scale, ergonomics, user experience etc.
