CAOS (Chaos) Bowl

Brief: Do research on a chef to understand their philosophy in cooking, and design a product specially for them.

 

My chef: Massimo Bottura

Massimo Bottura uses Jackson Pollock's style of Drip Painting to garnish his plates. Drip painting involves the act of dripping and splattering of the paint on the canvas. The act of garnishing is seen as a performative act and is a form of art by itself.

Inspired by the Chaotic Motion of the Double Pendulum, CAOS aims to involve the diners in the act of garnishing and help to create an entirely different garnish for each of the diners.
